I haven't read a whole ton of books in my life. But I've read what seemed to be pretty intense ones. To me at least. But most of them relied on a majority of the book to develop tension and suspense but even with that the level of intensity pails in comparison to the first couple chapters of this book. It already introduced three characters but there's this a sense of loneliness. The author doesn't keep the fact that a character will die. But when he does it's still  shocking. Not so much has been answered except these men are searching for a fallen satilite and there's a town of dead people...

I checked out the renowned classic The Andromeda Strain. I'm looking forward to it.
